Fabian Cancellara (Trek-Segafredo) won the Gold medal in the individual time-trial at the Rio Olympics. This is Fabian’s second Olympic Gold medal. He also won the individual time-trial at the 2008 Beijing Olympics. He rode the hilly, rain-slicked course along the coast in 1 hour, 12 minutes, 15.42 seconds to finish 47 seconds ahead of Tom Dumoulin of the Netherlands. Three-time Tour de France champion, Chris Froome, claimed the Bronze medal by finishing one minute and two seconds behind Cancellara’s winning time.
